Why should I have a website? What are the benefits of having a business website?
Having a website is having your business open to your clients or would-be clients round the clock. The website will serve as a virtual service representative, where one can access details about your business - like the company's contact information, products offered, services, special deals, etc. With an e-commerce website, it gets better; customers can pick and choose what they want from your site and finalise transactions online, from any part of the world.
Your client base and customer satisfaction can be increased with the presence of a website. The ability to easily update your business-related particulars, cost-effective ways of sending information to customers (newsletters, emails), and common answers to frequently asked questions can be made available on your site, to give you more time to deal with the main aspects of your business. Additionally, global presence and 24/7 availability make having a website worth it.
What is hosting and why do I need it? Will you provide hosting services for my website?
Once your website is completed the site must be placed on a web "Server" (a computer which is permanently connected to the Internet). This means that your site can be accessed anywhere around the world at any time. In simple terms, Hosting is the business of housing and serving files for one or more websites.
Subpixel is purely a web design and development business. We do not offer hosting services, but we can recommend companies that do, which in our opinion are efficient, as well as reasonably priced. We will also undertake the entire process of having to get your site hosted if you cannot handle doing so by yourself.
What is a Domain Name and how do I get one for my website?
A Domain Name is a unique address identifying each site on the Internet. It usually consists of two or more segments separated by full stops. For example - www.yourbusinessname.com.au; our domain is subpixelonline.com.au

How much does a web site cost to build?
The cost of a website depends on its complexity. Basic websites can cost a few hundreds while larger, more complex ones can run into thousands. Subpixel average rates are as follow:
A basic (professional) website with up to 7 pages, including one online form will attract a fee of $500.
Note that rates may increase or decrease based on the number of pages, programming involved etc. So, to give a fixed price would be baseless. To be more precise, we would like to hear about your specifications before we give you a quote. You can request a free quote by filling up the form on our contact page.
What Content do I put on my site? How will I provide this Content?
In any website, content is considered king. It is very important that relevant content is provided in order to proceed with the design process. If you are unable to write your content, the services of a copyriter would be required. There will most certainly be a delay in launching a complete site if all necessary content is not provided. Your content is most preferably acceptable in Soft Format (preferable in a Word file). You can give it to us on a CD or send it by email.
How long will it take to design and launch my website?
The time that it takes to design your website depends on several factors. If all content has been provided, you can expect a faster delivery period. For example, a 7 page website can be estimated to be completed within 7-10 days. Again, this period varies, depending on your overall satisfaction of the layout, content and usability of the site. In which case, time will have to be set out for the editing process. Once you are completely satisfied, then the website will be brought online.
Will I be able to preview my website before it is launched?
Yes. All clients can review their website before it is finally launched. A testing address will be provided where one can access and take a look at the progress of the website.
Once my website design is completed - what after sales service do you offer?
From the design part of the work that we have completed, Subpixel offers 4 Free Content updates in the first two years from the date your site is brought online. After this period, charges apply for updating. If you are comfortable doing it independently, you can choose to do so.
Note: The free updates does not include redesigning the website.
Who owns the website once the design is completed?
Once full payment for the website has been made to Subpixel, it will be owned by your business.
